On the blue Top Bar, select your avatar on the far right to access the Settings Menu.  From here you will be able to select Organization Settings.

Once you reach the Organization Settings area, you will notice that there are eight tabs that organize the various settings and that you are located on the first tab, General.  Select the Import tab within the Organization Settings area.  You will notice that when importing your companies and contacts, you have several options from which to choose.

Options for Importing Companies and Contacts

  1. Manual Import of Companies
  2. Manual Import of Contacts
  3. Third Party Imports (Harvest, Google Contacts, Xero, Freshbooks)

Importing Your Companies Manually

To import your companies manually, you will begin by clicking on the Companies icon on the Import tab of the Organization Settings area.

This will open the Import Companies overlay window, open to the Paste from Spreadsheet tab.

You will be able to manually import your companies in two ways:

  1. Paste from Spreadsheet
  2. Upload a File

To paste your companies from Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets:

  1. Simply copy your list of companies and associated data from the respective file. You can include any extra details such as website, phone number, company number and more. 
  2. Paste your data into the text box on the Paste from Spreadsheet tab.
  3. Click the blue Next button.
  4. You will now be able to map the fields, matching your data to the appropriate headings.
  5. Click the blue Import button to finish importing your companies. You will see a confirmation message noting the total number of your imports.
  6. Click OK to close the confirmation message.

To Upload Your Companies by Uploading a File:

  1. Once you arrive at the Import Companies overlay window, click on the Upload a File tab.
  2. Click on the Choose File button to browse and find the appropriate file containing your list of companies. (Once the file has been selected, you will see the file name listed to the right of the Choose File button.)
  3. If your file contains column headers, make sure that you select the checkbox to Skip the first row, since it includes field names.
  4. Click the blue Next button.
  5. You will now be able to map the fields, matching your data to the appropriate headings.
  6. Click the blue Import button to finish importing your companies. You will see a confirmation message noting the total number of your imports.
  7. Click OK to close the confirmation message.

Importing Your Contacts Manually

To import your contacts manually, you will begin by clicking on the Contacts icon on the Import tab of the Organization Settings area.

Tip:  Import or add your companies first so that you can match your contacts to the appropriate company on import.

This will open the Import Contacts overlay window, open to the Paste from Spreadsheet tab.

You will be able to manually import your contacts in two ways:

  1. Paste from Spreadsheet
  2. Upload a File

To paste your contacts from Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets:
